Dear members of our Fellowship
I am writing to welcome you back to worship at Greasby Methodist Church. It has been a long time since we have been able to worship together under one roof, but we are now returning to our spiritual home on Sunday 6th September at 10.45am.
Things will look and feel a lot different, as you can see from the photograph below.
There will be chairs spaced at 2 metres distance to comply with Government and Methodist Church guidelines. This means that we can only accommodation 35 people in the Church and a further 8 people in the atrium area.
Please do not attend worship if you are demonstrating symptoms of COVID-19.
You will be greeted at the main entrance door and your name will be ticked off a list to show who has attended a service, for track and trace purposes. You will then be guided into the church and shown to a seat. Following the service all attendees will exit through the old lobby and door.
The names and contact details of visitors will be recorded and kept for 21 days for track and trace purposes.
As there may be some delay in checking or taking names at the entrance, you are encouraged to arrive at church from 10.20am onwards and directly take a seat on arrival.
The seating will be arranged so that couples from the same household may sit together.
Hand sanitiser is available, please wear face covering throughout. Sadly, singing is not allowed for the foreseeable future. Please retain coats/hats/umbrellas etc as the corridor to the offices is not available.
Unfortunately, there will be no familiar greetings or shaking hands or hugging, as this is still not allowed under Government and Methodist Church guidelines.
The kitchen will be closed, so there will be no gathering in the atrium for refreshments either before or after the service. Bring bottled water/plastic beaker if required. The main toilets will be closed for the foreseeable future and only the accessible toilet will be open for use.
We will not be taking an offering during worship but there will be a plate for donations at the entrance. Please consider donating by standing order or direct credit, if at all possible, to avoid handling cash in Church.
You are encouraged to leave promptly and please do not congregate in the car park.
Although this situation has been difficult for so many it is good that we can come together to offer our worship to God and give thanks for his care and his love that will see us through this time.
I look forward to welcoming you back to worship on the 6th September and wish you well and keep safe.
Revd. Yangsun Yi on behalf of the leadership team.
